The trade

What you gain, and what you give up

Worth being straight about both sides. A shared boat is the cheapest honest way to see Raja Ampat, and it costs you some control over the day.

You gain the price

The boat cost is fixed, so every extra passenger lowers what each of you pays. This is the whole reason shared trips exist.

You gain company

Useful if you are travelling alone. Raja Ampat is remote and the days are long.

You give up timing

Departure hour and route are set before you board, and they do not change for one passenger.

You give up certainty

A shared departure only runs if enough people book those dates. We will say early if yours is not filling.

What it actually costs each

We charter the boat as a whole and divide it across your group, so here is how the same trip lands per person as the group grows.

  • Two people

    Half the boat each. You are effectively paying private-charter rates.

  • Four people

    A quarter of the boat each.

  • Six people

    A sixth of the boat each — a third of what two people pay per head.

Boat cost divided by group size. Excludes the marine park permit at around IDR 1,000,000 per person, plus flights and lodging.

How it works

Joining a departure

We do not publish a fixed timetable, because an operator our size cannot honestly promise one. Departures form around the dates people ask for.

    Send your dates

    Tell us when you are in Raja Ampat and which route interests you.

  2. 02

    We check the boat

    We say who else is already booked on those dates and what that makes the per-person cost.

  3. 03

    You decide

    If nobody else is going, you can wait, take a different date, or charter privately. We will not hold a seat on a trip that is not happening.
