Our Raja Ampat island-hopping packages run from the Piaynemo Half-Day (from IDR 1,500,000/person) to the Four-Day Island Circuit (from IDR 13,500,000/person), as of June 2026, subject to change. Each trip covers boat, fuel, a local guide, snorkeling gear and the listed stops. The Raja Ampat marine park entry permit is paid separately.
Raja Ampat Island Hopping Packages
Raja Ampat Boat Tour runs island-hopping boat packages out of Waisai (Waigeo) and Sorong, covering Piaynemo, the Pianemo karst viewpoints, Pasir Timbul sandbar, and reef snorkeling stops. Trips run 1 to 4 days, by speedboat or wooden boat. Indicative pricing below is per group and dated June 2026 — prices change with fuel, season, and boat availability.
What does an island hopping package actually include?
Most packages bundle the things that are hard to arrange yourself: the boat, fuel, a licensed local boat captain, a guide, snorkeling gear, and a basic lunch. What sits outside the package is usually the part travelers forget to budget for — the Raja Ampat marine conservation entry permit, domestic flights, hotel or homestay nights, and the Sorong–Waisai ferry.
We work with licensed local boat owners and guides rather than operating a fleet we pretend to own. That means the captain on your boat knows the channels, the tides at Pianemo, and which reefs are calm on a given morning.
Here’s the standard split across our packages:
| Included | Not included |
|---|---|
| Private boat + fuel | Marine conservation permit (~IDR 1,000,000 / person, foreign rate, as of June 2026) |
| Licensed local captain + guide | Flights to Sorong (DEO) |
| Snorkeling mask, snorkel, fins | Accommodation (homestay/resort) |
| Bottled water + light lunch | Sorong–Waisai ferry ticket |
| Pickup at Waisai harbor or your homestay | Travel insurance |
The conservation permit is a government-set fee, not ours — you pay it on arrival, and it funds local reef management. We’ll tell you the current rate before you book so there are no surprises at the jetty.
Which island hopping package fits your trip?
The right package depends on how many days you have and whether you want viewpoints, snorkeling, or both. Below are our four most-booked itineraries with indicative pricing per group, valid as of June 2026.
1. Piaynemo Half-Day Hop
A short trip for travelers tight on time or testing the water before a longer charter. You climb the Piaynemo wooden stairway for the lagoon panorama, then snorkel one nearby reef.
- Duration: ~5 hours
- Group size: 1–6 guests
- Boat: Speedboat
- Stops: Piaynemo viewpoint, one reef snorkel, Pasir Timbul (tide permitting)
- Indicative price: IDR 3,800,000 / approx. USD 235 per group (as of June 2026)
2. Pianemo + Sandbar Full-Day
The most popular single day. You cover the Pianemo karst maze, the Pasir Timbul sandbar that surfaces at low tide, and two or three snorkel stops with a packed lunch on the boat or a beach.
- Duration: ~8 hours
- Group size: 1–8 guests
- Boat: Speedboat
- Stops: Pianemo viewpoint, Pasir Timbul, 3 reef snorkels
- Indicative price: IDR 6,500,000 / approx. USD 400 per group (as of June 2026)
3. Two-Day West Waigeo Explorer
Two days lets you slow down and reach reefs the day-trippers skip. Overnight is at a local homestay (booked separately or arranged through us). Day one runs the Pianemo cluster; day two heads toward Friwen Wall and the calmer northern reefs.
- Duration: 2 days / 1 night
- Group size: 1–8 guests
- Boat: Speedboat
- Stops: Pianemo, Pasir Timbul, Friwen Wall, 5+ reef snorkels
- Indicative price: IDR 12,500,000 / approx. USD 770 per group, boat only (as of June 2026; homestay extra)
4. Four-Day Raja Ampat Island Circuit
For travelers who want the full spread — the southern karst, the northern walls, and time for manta-season reef stops when conditions line up. Built around homestay nights and flexible weather windows. We never guarantee manta sightings; they follow the plankton, not our schedule.
- Duration: 4 days / 3 nights
- Group size: 2–8 guests
- Boat: Speedboat or wooden boat, depending on route
- Stops: Pianemo, Piaynemo, Pasir Timbul, Friwen, Arborek village, multiple reefs
- Indicative price: from IDR 24,000,000 / approx. USD 1,480 per group, boat only (as of June 2026; homestay extra)
USD figures use roughly IDR 16,200 = USD 1 (June 2026) and shift with the exchange rate. We quote in IDR and confirm the day’s rate when you book.
How is pricing structured — per person or per boat?
Per boat. You charter the whole boat, then split the cost across your group, so the per-person price drops as your group grows. Two travelers on the Pianemo full-day pay far more each than six travelers on the same boat. This is why we ask your group size first.
| Package | Group of 2 (per person) | Group of 6 (per person) |
|---|---|---|
| Piaynemo Half-Day | ~IDR 1,900,000 | ~IDR 633,000 |
| Pianemo Full-Day | ~IDR 3,250,000 | ~IDR 1,083,000 |
| Two-Day Explorer | ~IDR 6,250,000 | ~IDR 2,083,000 |
Figures are boat cost divided by group size and exclude permits, flights, and lodging. They’re indicative as of June 2026 and not a fixed quote.
When is the best time to book?
The calmest seas and clearest water generally fall between October and April. June through September can bring stronger wind and swell on exposed crossings, so some reef stops get swapped for sheltered ones on the captain’s call. Whatever month you pick, book the boat two to four weeks ahead in peak season — there are a limited number of licensed boats, and weekends fill first.
